Raccoons are comfortable living with or near humans, which is why it is not rare for them to invade and damage your property. They’re especially known to destroy insulation in your attic while leaving feces ridden with roundworm and other diseases that are harmful to you and your pets. Raccoons often nest in attics to nurse their young, only adding to the problem.
Skunks, commonly found in both urban and suburban areas in the U.S., are known for their foul-smelling, painful spray which can be directed at people and pets when they feel they’re in danger. They’re also one of the leading carriers of rabies. Besides being dangerous to your health, skunks can easily damage property. They often dig to make themselves at home underneath sheds, decks, and porches and will raid lawn or gardens as they look for insects.
These nocturnal animals are known to live in urban areas, often taking shelter in or near humans’ properties. They particularly become comfortable underneath buildings or in attics, especially when it’s an adult female nursing a family. Opossums will do whatever it takes to get what they need to live, including seeking out trash, birdseed, and pet food. While they’re typically gentle animals, they’ll defend themselves if necessary. In additional to causing property damage, opossums can carry dangerous diseases. They’ll leave feces around a property and in swimming pools.
While many birds are harmless, there’s a wide variety of birds that can cause damage to physical property when they inhabit suburban areas. Some of the most common nuisance birds are black crows, sparrows, woodpeckers, waterfowls, and pigeons. Depending on the bird, they can disrupt your home or property via noise, droppings, strong odors, and feathers. They are also known to feast on vegetation and left-behind food, which can attract them to a variety of properties.
Squirrels, one of the most common rodents in the U.S., inhabiting rural, suburban, and urban areas, are active throughout the day. Although they’re found in trees and wooded areas, they don’t hesitate to get comfortable in garages or attics, even nesting to nurse their young, when there’s a good opportunity to take shelter and store food.

GROENS BAT REMOVAL AND PREVENTION SERVICES Bats come in a variety of species and carry with them a bad repuation. Rightfully so, they are capable of spreading diseases, but they do offer some benefits to people and the environment in general. Most bats maintain a diet of insects like moths and mosquitoes acting as a form of minor pest control. Bats are most common in barns, and attics, but can adapt to nearly any environment. They are nocturnal, and often enter homes during the cold winter months. Although bats have some great benefits, they are known to host fleas, flies, ticks, and mites as well as potentially.
